TEP provides histological services for basic science (non-clinical) research, including processing, embedding, sectioning and staining of animal tissues. TEP only accept samples fixed in 10% neutral buffered formalin or 70% ethanol. If you need a pathologist to read slides, please contact Hui Xu at huixu@illinois.edu.
Services and Fees
- Trimming: $10 per cassette
- Tissue Process: $6 per cassette
- Embedding: $4 per block
- Cryosection: $10 ($1/extra serial section, $2/extra deep section) per slide
- Paraffin Sectioning: $6 ($1/extra serial section, $2/extra deep section) per slide
- H&E Stain: $3.50 per slide
- Special Stain: $25 per slide
- IHC Stain: $200 set up fee per project, plus $40/slide
- Slide Box: $8, $10 per box
- Imaging (20x, 40x): $10, $12 per slide
- Consultations: $30 for 30 minutes
Submission
Please submit orders to the online ordering system FBS by filling out the histology service order request form. First-time users should email Hui Xu (huixu@illinois.edu) to have an account created. Please submit samples to B410 of Beckman Institute between 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays.
